Inane plot line, silly dialogue, a whole lot of action that accomplishes nothing? Yes, I love that the Good Guy is my King. And I think that particular lie of Satan's is his most effective because it's the one that deceived him.

Joan - Loved how you worded your comment. Yes, I am also relieved that He carries the weight of the world (even the weight of my world). I think that's probably what He meant when He asked us to give Him our burdens, to take His yoke upon us. Control is not a responsibility we were meant to have.

Sandie - Good grief, NOT!! As much as I try to take control of things, I'm really glad that I'm not supposed to. His sovereignty is comforting - for I know that He will only do what is BEST.

Patti - AMEN to that. Perfect love works out the perfect plan. And His perfect love is always perfectly GOOD!

Joan - I love that sovereignty implies that God is the ultimate Authority. He is independent of any influence or distraction. His purposes cannot be thwarted by anything or anyone - whether here on earth or in the heavenly realms. THAT is comforting.

Betty - My sister always likes to use the example of a piece of needlepoint. Our side of things, the back side, is just a tumbled mess of loose yarns, all tied up and knotted. But, on the other side, God's side, there is a beautiful piece of work being fashioned - with every thread in its proper place. So I agree that our "sight" is not the whole picture. It's hard to trust in that - but it is comforting. His perfect will, in His perfect timing, in His perfect way. Yes, that's good news!

GOD BLESS!Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00840994989201507494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3168946904182381428.post-87437326041870797282011-05-20T20:20:56.546-07:002011-05-20T20:20:56.546-07:00sovereignity - completely in control and decides w...sovereignity - completely in control and decides what he decides regardless of whether it makes sense to us. I think that's the part of God some people have trouble grasping, why does he allow something to happen to someone, but spares someone else? but that is that sovereignity aspect of him that he knows best for the entire picture when we just see a part of it. I'm thankful for his sovereignity because he always seems to get things right in his perfect timing and will!

bettybettyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06323135450742337670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3168946904182381428.post-10212927114832471502011-05-20T16:27:59.621-07:002011-05-20T16:27:59.621-07:00I agree with what others have said. Praise God for His sovereignty -- without it, I would be simply wandering around with the weight of the world on me. Knowing that He is carrying everything is how I can rest in Him.

Living for Him, JoanJoan Davis (Jo)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02305888520649862063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3168946904182381428.post-60686926483403082502011-05-20T06:53:45.678-07:002011-05-20T06:53:45.678-07:00The sovereignty of God definitely does not intimid...The sovereignty of God definitely does not intimidate me. I feel a great sense of comfort knowing that He's in control. (My sin nature likes to try to run the Debbie Show and gets frustrated, but I still like knowing that He is sovereign.)

I think that one of Satan's biggest and most successful lies is that we can over be sovereign over our own lives. We all serve a king. I'm glad that mine is the Good Guy who always wins.Debbiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05671482394424988047noreply@blogger.com
