The cockroach is a formidable creature and probably demonic so you are right to be afraid. My family lived in a house in downtown San Diego when I was younger and they were everywhere down there...had to sleep with the lights on. I get the heeby-jeebys just thinking of it! Anyway, your Mom IS amazing and so are you for tackling such a beast, even if it was only to hold the cardboard.

I hope you both had a wonderful Mothers Day and thank you for your wise words that help us all to better understand heroism, the awesome privilege of being a vessel of the Holy Spirit, and how He guides us through trials (like crazy cockroach battles ) to strengthen and hone our courage. I am so grateful for your friendship, your comments, your insight that comes from listening to the Lord before you write. The Scriptures about the Holy Spirit putting the words in our mouths probably blessed me the most as I sweat over every word I write! Hopefully, I'll relax a little more and write more often.
Next to the Scripture, the comment that hit me the most was your repetition of Jesus' question: "Do you want to be healed?" Just like you said, my first reaction would be, "Of course." But if it means confronting my brokenness, my negative thoughts, and truly changing, I just might hesitate. That all hurts too much. But staying where I am hurts too much as well. Much to think about here, Sharon. So grateful for you~
JanisJanis Van Keurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07291628430833626275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3168946904182381428.post-47473723326908932802014-05-24T09:23:32.281-07:002014-05-24T09:23:32.281-07:00Thanks Sharon. I was known by my pseudonym, and as I shared more and more over the years, and the relationships became more real, I hated "hiding" behind a false name. When I comment, I want people to know it's ME. When I ask for prayer, I want to know that my friends KNOW who they're praying for. :-)Heather @To Sow a Seedhttp://www.tosowaseed.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3168946904182381428.post-62845237675164096392014-05-23T09:21:54.508-07:002014-05-23T09:21:54.508-07:00My story, His glory....love that. I thought I had stories to tell, and that no one wanted to listen. My daughter suggested a blog to keep a record and tell the stories. I try to give comments when I read a post, but there are only a few who without fail, leave me a comment. Sharon, you are one, and Floyd is the one who never fails. His words are always full of wisdom and encouragement as were your 20 carefully saved comments. Although comments make us happy, the greatest comment I desire to hear is from Jesus when He says, "Well done thou good and faithful servant." That's a cute way of seeing comments. I've always been blessed by yours. My favorite comment of yours was when I attended the Joyce Meyer Conference in Long Beach a few years back with my daughter. You expressed how we traveled down the coast and close to where you lived at that time and wished we could have met up.
