"FAN THE FLAME" FRIDAY - Birthday

Welcome to "Fan the Flame" Friday.

This is a weekly post that will be "short and sweet" (kinda like me...)

Just a word and a phrase, a sentence or a question...just a little something to "fan the flame" of your creativity!

Today's word: birthday

Do you like or dislike your birthday?  Why?

What would you love to do for a perfect birthday celebration?

Do you remember your *second* birthday, when you were born again?

If you feel like it, I would love to hear your story!

(The word this week was inspired by my youngest son's 26th birthday.  How did that happen?  I'm only 29...ahem, times two!)  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Son!

Let me know what you think!!

"This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you…For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline." (2 Timothy 1:6-7)

  1. I was a child when I gave my heart to Jesus. It didn't make me perfect. I've had to repent of heart issues since. But God always forgives, doesn't He? It's been a life long, daily walk with Jesus. I'm blessed.

  2. Do you like or dislike your birthday? Why?

OK, though I DO NOT like the number attached to my birthday (this year was 58!), I really do like my birthday. Oddly enough, I like having a day when I feel like everyone treats me a little bit special. I like the attention (honest admission...confession?!) And, it gives me an excuse to kinda take stock of my life, to do a little self-inventory.

What would you love to do for a perfect birthday celebration?

This past year was pretty perfect. My husband planned a special dinner at an *unnamed* restaurant. That was exciting enough, but unbeknownst to me, he had also invited my sons! So, I arrived to our table, and was surprised by a bouquet of flowers, and my two adorable children! It was perfect! I like cards too!!

Do you remember your *second* birthday, when you were born again?

I don't remember it, I was only three. But, I totally know that it happened - because there has not been one day that has gone by since that I haven't felt the presence of my dearest friend, Jesus, right in my heart.

On my first birthday, God performed His will by having me be born. On my second birthday, I chose to accept God's perfect will by receiving His Son as my Lord and Savior.

    GOD BLESS!

"So [I] have been greatly encouraged in the midst of [my] troubles and suffering, dear brothers and sisters, because you have remained strong in your faith. It gives [me] new life to know that you are standing firm in the Lord. How [I] thank God for you!" (1 Thessalonians 3:7-9)

Thanks for your comments - it is such a joy to be sharing my journey with friends like YOU!
