SATURDAY STROLL

Welcome to "SATURDAY STROLL!"

In these posts I will be interacting with Scripture – making it a conversational walk of faith.

Sometimes we'll be talking with Jesus, sometimes God will be talking to us.

There might even be *guest appearances* by some of our beloved characters from the Bible!

So put on your walking shoes – you know we can all use the exercise!

For this is what the Sovereign LORD says:

I Myself will search and find My sheep.
I will be like a shepherd looking for his scattered flock.
I will find My sheep and rescue them.

The Lord is my shepherd.

I will feed them.

I have all that I need.

I will give them good pastureland.
There they will lie down in pleasant places and feed in the lush pastures of the hills.

He lets me rest in green meadows.
He leads me beside peaceful streams.

I Myself will tend my sheep and give them a place to lie down in peace.

He renews my strength.

I will search for My lost ones who stray away.

He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to His name.

I will bandage the injured and strengthen the weak.

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me.

I will bring them back home from all the places where they are scattered.
I will make a covenant of peace with My people.
Then they will be able to camp safely in the wildest places and sleep without fear.

Your rod and Your staff protect and comfort me.

When I have broken their chains of slavery and rescued them from those who enslaved them, then they will know that I am the LORD.
They will live in safety, and no one will frighten them.

You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.

And in the proper season I will send the showers they need.
There will be showers of blessing.

My cup overflows with blessings.

In this way, they will know that I, the LORD their God, am with them.

Surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life.

You are My flock, the sheep of My pasture.
You are My people, and I am your God.

I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

Sharon, you are My precious little lamb…

  1. You just managed to make what is old and familiar fresh and new and personal, just the way God meant it to be. What He inspired in the heart of David, He whispers to us all, every day, in so many ways.

Your stroll did exactly what HE wanted it to do this morning. When I finished reading it and started writing my comment, the Holy Spirit reminded me of a verse.

    This one:

"For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of his hand..."

I went to read it for myself, and then I read on to finish the complete thought.

"Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts in contention as in the day of testing in the wilderness." (Psalm 95:7-8)

Since you know I've been on a wilderness journey and study, you can imagine how much this spoke to me.

Thank you for taking me on your stroll, Sharon. You don't realize it, but those of us eavesdropping on your walk are being blessed as well.

  2. I love this! It was a "reading feast" like the Shepherd promises to prepare. I have learned so much and been inspired so often in the year I have been reading your posts. What a gift you have to break the Bread of Life. My Shepherd led me beside the still waters here.

  3. How great to have the Lord say to you "Sharon, you are my precious little lamb"

"I have called you by name, you are mine" comes to mind.

Thank you for this comforting encouraging blog.

God Bless your week - Nita

  5. This is my life psalm! Through all the years I've strolled with him, he has been the Good Shepherd always providing, comforting and strenthening. Where would we be without the one who restores our souls or follows us with Goodness and Mercy?
    My blessings, fellow lamb.

  6. Hi Sharon -

The 23rd Psalm is the favorite of so many and no wonder. There is such absolute comfort in that Psalm.

Thank you, Sharon, for how you channeled this.

  9. Awwwwwwwwww precious Sharon,

Enjoyed the stroll with the Shepherd today and nonetheless from Ezekial too!
Awesome combination of Ezekial and Psalm 23... I am refreshed and blessed!

I had to read Debbie's reflection after I started mine...and then the rest... but Deb's struck me as so beautifully reflected... and touching. Loved seeing the Holy Spirit continuing flowing and ministering as she wrote... I was drawn to read it (which you know I try not to do too often, so I don't loose my own train of thought)... but there it goes.
Gone... Grazing and chewing on the Word
does that to this lamb but I'm so thankful that you receive this as His precious little lamb...

My favorite part of our stroll today:
"I will bring them back home from all the places where they are scattered."

Love to you and BIG HUG,
    Peggy

"So [I] have been greatly encouraged in the midst of [my] troubles and suffering, dear brothers and sisters, because you have remained strong in your faith. It gives [me] new life to know that you are standing firm in the Lord. How [I] thank God for you!" (1 Thessalonians 3:7-9)

Thanks for your comments - it is such a joy to be sharing my journey with friends like YOU!
