Welcome to "Fan the Flame" Friday.
This is a weekly post that will be "short and sweet" (kinda like me...)
Just a word and a phrase, a sentence or a question...just a little something to "fan the flame" of your creativity!
Today's word: defiant
What does it mean to be defiant?
Do you think being defiant can ever be a good thing? If yes - how so, and in what situations?
What is the danger of being defiant against God?
Let me know what you think!!
"This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you…For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline." (2 Timothy 1:6-7)
BLOG = "Blessedly Leaning On God!"
When I think of the word defiant, I think of resistance. It's positive when we are defiant against Satan.
ReplyDeleteDefiant to God = Hell! sandie
ReplyDeleteDefiant against God is totally taking issue with what is right, major sin.
ReplyDeleteWow. Great reflections so far! I would have to agree with them. Being defiant to God is sin; resisting His authority.
ReplyDeleteDefiant is not necessarily good or bad. As you pointed out defiance against God is bad. Definitely is good if it is against Satan.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Isn't it the very essence of defiance to "Stand firm" against the schemes of the devil and fight with the whole armor of God? I think it is. I think defiance in and of itself isn't a vice or a virtue. I think the OBJECT of the defiance is the defining factor.
ReplyDeleteCould be wrong, but that's what I think.
OK, I just read the others and realize that I didn't bring a single thing to the party. Good grief...
