Welcome to "SATURDAY STROLL!"
In these posts I will be interacting with Scripture – making it a conversational walk of faith.
Sometimes we'll be talking with Jesus, sometimes God will be talking with us.
There might even be *guest appearances* by some of our beloved characters from the Bible!
So put on your walking shoes – you know we can all use the exercise!
MY ANXIOUS HEART SPEAKS
Jesus,
I’m so anxious, so nervous, so tired.
There’s so much going on right now. I feel overwhelmed.
Please speak a word to me.
Oh, dear one.
I know how hard it is to live in this world.
I lived in it, too.
And I am telling you – here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows.
Things that are hard, things that are sad.
Because, you see, this world is enemy territory.
That’s why I came – to bring the Greatest Rescue of all time to this sin-filled world!
And that redemption is why you can have peace in Me.
Peace because I have reconciled you to my Father, and peace because my Resurrection Life gives you hope.
So please take heart, take courage – be of good cheer!
This world is not your home.
FOR I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD!
In Him I have peace – though my feelings are in turmoil, my soul rests.
(Thoughts on John 16:33)
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27)
How does God bring you peace in the midst of your turmoil?

"Because, you see, this world is enemy territory."
ReplyDeleteBingo. I don't know why I have never thought of this truth stated so plainly before. It's like being deployed to the battle front. That image really helps me with perspective.
I agree with Debbie; so true "because, you see, this world is enemy territory" I need to be reminded of that; this world is not ever going to be easy, is it? But we do have that peace and that promise of Jesus walking alongside us every step of the way and that he conquered it all for us; we just need to remember to stay closely connected to him through it all and trust in him guiding us along the way.
ReplyDeleteI like the image of our souls resting too Sharon.
hugs to you; I hope things are coming together and there is rest for you soon!

Just stopping by to say hello - give you hugs ! sandie
ReplyDeleteGod gives me peace during my morning devotions, when He helps me "steady down" when I am feeling shaky and overwhelmed.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you. ...Marsha
His peace, nothing in this world like it. Isn't it the greatest gift when life is swirling crazy around us?
ReplyDeleteHis peace no matter what. A friend called this week....reminded me God's got my back...so no worries. We walk by faith not sight...Stay strong Sharon
ReplyDeleteSweet peace, I love to dwell in His sweet peace.

Hi Sharon, I could have penned those words, so it was so comforting to read the answer.
Thank you and Thank You Jesus. Peace Perfect Peace, is a gift of Christ Our Lord.
