GOD, THE ALMIGHTY

Honor the LORD.

Honor the LORD for His glory and strength.
Honor the LORD for the glory of His name.
Worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness.

The voice of the LORD echoes above the sea.
The God of glory thunders.
The LORD thunders over the mighty sea.

The voice of the LORD is powerful.
The voice of the LORD is majestic.

The voice of the LORD splits the mighty cedars.
The LORD shatters the cedars of Lebanon.

He makes Lebanon's mountains skip like a calf.
He makes Mount Hermon leap like a young wild ox.

The voice of the LORD strikes with bolts of lightning.
The voice of the LORD makes the barren wilderness quake.
The LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
The voice of the LORD twists mighty oaks and strips the forests bare.

In His Temple everyone shouts, "Glory!"

The LORD rules over the floodwaters.
The LORD reigns as king forever.

The LORD gives His people strength.
The LORD blesses them with peace.

The LORD tells His children, "Remember who I AM."

Lord, though I do not understand Your ways, I trust You. And I believe that You still sit on Your throne. Nothing happens outside of Your sovereign control.

My life is in Your hands.

  2. My life is in Your hands.
Why is it that although my head knows and heart believes that those are capable hands, my flesh so often tries to twist and manipulate them?

This is a beautiful psalm, Sharon.

Will you indulge me with a giggle? Just one. Our former pastor used to say "Glory!" all the time. It was his favorite exclamation. Only, when HE said it, his voice would squeak, and he sounded exactly like Mr. Haney on "Green Acres".

To this day, I read the word, "Glory!" in my head that way. Sigh.

I think God shakes his head in a tch tch tch at me, but I think maybe... just maybe... it makes Him giggle a little too.

  4. isn't that a great psalm? I recognized it before I read to the end. This is one that needs to be printed out and read while praying to God to remember his greatness, power, awesomeness, might, majesty, strength, etc. Love it!!!

He truly is the best!!! And I agree, my times are in his hands; my days are in his hands. He is in control; we will trust in him.

  9. Hi Sharon -

Amen, Sharon - honor Him indeed!

You expressed, "In His Temple everyone shouts, "Glory!"

"The LORD blesses them with peace.

"Nothing happens outside of Your sovereign control."

Hallelujah! Thank you, Sharon, for those potent words of truth.

We can rest assured that our Lord is forever on His throne and that nothing and no one can ever de-throne Him.

HE RULES AND REIGNS ABOVE IT ALL.
WHATEVER IT IS - IT IS NOT BIGGER THAN GOD!!!

  10. UPDATE on my speaking engagement at the end of my responses here!

Sandy - If I didn't know I was His, I don't think I'd even wake up for another day, you know?! I am so glad that I am held in His hands - every single moment.

Debbie - I hear Him - He's giggling..."Glory!!" (I love your warped sense of humor!) I also have that faith "disconnect" between my head, heart, and flesh. It's so frustrating! Thank goodness, His words are truth - whether I "feel" it or not!

Betty - I can only add this to your comment - AMEN!! He is deserving of all the praise, and all the glory. He is the Mighty One who holds everything and everyone together.

Lisa - So glad God's Word spoke to you here today. How are you feeling? And blessings to you also.

Janette - God's Word never gets old! Yes indeed! I continue to be amazed at how often it just comes alive for me - well, actually, I shouldn't be amazed at all!

Sandie - I felt your prayers, and they helped immensely! Thank you. Had a headache this morning - but not the big huge one - an Advil and your prayers stopped it in its tracks!!

Patrina - Oh, I am listening to that Voice, too. Sometimes it is very quiet, and I must be still enough to hear it. Sometimes it booms out to me, "Remember who I am." But always, always, I am so grateful that He speaks to me.

Sandra - The King Of All, Alpha and Omega - the One who will forever sit in glorious authority. You're so right, sister - His shadow covers it all!

OK - UPDATE: I can't thank you enough for all your support and prayers. This morning went fantastic! The group that we spoke to was very small - but they really responded to our talk. They laughed (I'm always glad when my "amusing" comes across!) - and they interacted with us. It was great, truly wonderful. I speak again to this group in 2 weeks, for 45 minutes. This was a good chance to get to know them a little bit ahead of time. They said that they were blessed.

I can only tell you that my friends and I had such a huge sense of God's presence. I left the building so energized that I could have climbed a mountain! I am privileged to have the opportunity to speak for Him, and that He gives me such joy doing it!

    GOD BLESS!

  12. Alisa - Thank you! God's Word really paints some beautiful pictures, doesn't it? My friends and I had such a great morning! This was my first speaking engagement, and I am excited that God is opening this new opportunity for me. His presence was very tangible, and I could just feel His Spirit speaking through me. That was such a privilege, and such a joy.

    GOD BLESS!

"So [I] have been greatly encouraged in the midst of [my] troubles and suffering, dear brothers and sisters, because you have remained strong in your faith. It gives [me] new life to know that you are standing firm in the Lord. How [I] thank God for you!" (1 Thessalonians 3:7-9)
