JUST BETWEEN ME AND GOD

I look up to the mountains - does my help come from there?

Sharon, watch for Me. I am ever present, and always near.

My help comes from the Lord, who made the heaven and earth!

Sharon, yes, I am the Creator. And I am able to take care of you, in all circumstances, forever.

He will not let me stumble.

Sharon, you will make mistakes. But I will always hold your hand. You will not fall away from Me.

The one who watches over me will not slumber, and He never sleeps.

Sharon, I have My eyes on you all the time. Even when you get up in the morning and when you go to bed at night. I'm on watch every moment you breathe.

The LORD himself watches over me!

Sharon, yes, I AM is watching you. The one true God. Me, your friend.

The LORD stands beside me as my protective shade.

Sharon, you will not be consumed by the heat of temptation, or the scorching sun of sin. I will keep you in the Shadow of My wings.

The LORD keeps me from all harm.

Sharon, if I am for you, who can ever be against you?

He watches over my life.

Sharon, I saw every day of your life before you were ever born. I recorded them all in My book. There isn't a moment that isn't on My calendar.

The LORD keeps watch over me as I come and go.

Sharon, I am like an Eagle. My eyes are focused on you. I know when you sit down, and I know when you stand up.

He is with me both now and forever.

Sharon, my dear child. I am with you every step you take in this life. And you will be with Me forever.

For God loved the world so much...

Sharon, I so loved YOU...

...that He gave His one and only Son...

Sharon, I gave My Son, Jesus, for YOU...

...so that everyone who believes in Him...

Sharon, how I celebrated the day YOU believed...

...will not perish...

Sharon, YOU will never die...

...but have eternal life.

Sharon, I am anxiously awaiting your arrival at My side in eternity. I'm looking forward to your homecoming. I can't wait to see YOU!

My dear friends, put your name into these words - and be encouraged by the wondrous love of our Lord!

(From Psalm 121 and John 3)

  1. Dear Sharon

I know that you may not know this but you too have been there for me everyday. Although I have not visited here for some time, not a single day has passed that I haven't thought of you.

Thank you for your kind comments and constant encouragement.

Thank you also for this - I shall insert my name and keep a copy in my special folder.

God bless. With love and care from Kerrie. xOx

  3. Great post! This last three or four days I have needed some self talk, better than what I have been listening to. Good idea. I think I am going to run to Psalm 8

  4. When I saw this on my Dashboard, I knew you were at least referencing Psalm 121; a favorite of mine! I too have taken scripture and put my name into it especially with the promises of Jesus, never leave, never forsake, always with us, meeting needs. It gives me great comfort at times!!

    beautifully written as always :)

  7. Sharon, I loved how your interplayed the Scriptures with how the Holy Spirit is relating them to you! How beautiful! I think this would be amazing practice for all of us.

  9. Oh Sharon, I love this one! I love the way you personalized every single one. I decided to reread them with "Debbie" inserted.

I think these would be wonderful to type up with our names inserted and put someplace very prominent in the house. When Satan tries to steal our joy, we can read them.

    I enjoyed this!

  10. Hi Sharon -

    Thank you for this.

I soaked in it and enjoyed the peacefulness...

Especially, I love this, "...I am anxiously awaiting your arrival at My side in eternity. I'm looking forward to your homecoming. I can't wait to see YOU!"

    Blessed assurance - indeed!

  11. It helps so much when we personalize scripture. Why not? It was meant for anyone who chooses to be adopted into His family. Family members have names...

  12. Kerrie - Thank you. I think of you every day, too. And I'm so glad that these words will be with you - the Lord has such wonderful and personal promises for us!

Alleluiabelle - Nothing makes me happier than to think that sharing God's Word has provided comfort and encouragement to someone. I'm so glad that this was a timely word for you - it was for me, too!

Gregg - Psalm 8 is so powerful, isn't it? I'm a master at negative self-talk. That's why I just have to insert myself into Scripture sometimes to put a proper perspective on things - GOD'S perspective on things, and on me!

Betty - Oh, thanks, my dear friend. Yes, putting our names into the Word of God really brings it home, doesn't it? I also do that with the verses that say He will never leave us. I also do it with the "Do not be afraid" ones, too. Such comfort He brings when the Word gets personalized to our very own hearts.

Peggy - I am seeking to always be listening to His gentle whispers. There are times when He needs a megaphone, yes - but when He whispers, my heart is comforted. (Yes, I got your email and wrote back! Your little buttons are so cute!)

Alisa - It's really powerful to do this. I don't do it often enough. And every time I do, I am tremendously touched by His Love. It's almost like I hear His audible Voice - right next to me. It's a very personal way to read His Word.

    More to come...

  13. Sandie - YES! God is there for you, and me, and all of us! What could possibly be better than the Lord of EVERYTHING to say to us, "If I am for you, who could ever be against you?!"

Debbie - I'm glad that you put your name into these verses. It's really such a fun, and very powerful, way to interact with His Word. I would encourage anyone to find other verses and do the same. Isn't He wonderful? He takes the time to speak to EACH one of us, tenderly and compassionately - individually. He's the God of all, and the God of one - know what I mean???

Sandra - Blessed assurance!! I love that. When I was a little girl, I used to get up in front of my grandpa's church (a small country chapel) and sing that wonderful hymn "Blessed Assurance." I'm still singing that song today - "This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long..."

Shay - I agree!! Why not?! We are His children. And His Word is His love story to us. It is alive and speaks to each of us, in our very own hearts. Because that is where He dwells, and that is where He speaks most intimately.

Keep listening to the still, small voice - read His love letter to you, the Bible - and know that God loves you more than you'll ever know!

    GOD BLESS!

"So [I] have been greatly encouraged in the midst of [my] troubles and suffering, dear brothers and sisters, because you have remained strong in your faith. It gives [me] new life to know that you are standing firm in the Lord. How [I] thank God for you!" (1 Thessalonians 3:7-9)
