MY WORD FOR TODAY

My Child,

Listen to what I say, and treasure My commands.
Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.
Cry out for insight, and ask for discernment.

Search for them as you would for silver.
Seek them like hidden treasures!

Then you will know what it means to fear Me.
And you will gain knowledge of Me.

For I grant wisdom!

From My mouth come knowledge and understanding.
I will grant a treasure of common sense to the honest.

I am a Shield to those who walk with integrity.
I guard the paths of the just.
I protect those who are faithful to Me.

I will help you understand what is right, just, and fair.
I will show you the right way to go.

For wisdom will enter your heart.
Knowledge will fill you with joy.
Wise choices will watch over you.
Understanding will keep you safe.

Stay on the path of the righteous.
Develop good judgment.

My child, never forget the things I have taught you.
Store My commands in your heart.

Write them deep in your soul.
Let them penetrate your very being.

Then you will find favor with both Me and people.
You will earn a good reputation.

Trust in Me with all your heart.
Don’t depend on your own understanding.
Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.

Seek My will in all you do.
I will show you which path to take.

Honor Me with your wealth.

Don’t reject My discipline.
Don’t be upset when I correct you.
I do this because I love you, as a Father loves His child.

Take My words to heart.
Follow My commands, and you will live.

Guard your heart above all else – for it determines the course of your life.

Look straight ahead.
Fix your eyes on what lies before you.
Mark out a straight path for your feet.
Don’t get sidetracked.

Trust and obey Me – it’s really that simple.

I am your security.
I will keep you.

And never forget – I love you with an everlasting love!

  1. Hi Sharon -

Yes, we must guard our hearts indeed. Thank you for sharing this vast knowledge with wisdom emphasized. It is so assuring to know that GOD rules - forever - and that He keeps us in His loving secure care!

Sidebar: If you are so inclined, please return to my blog topic "JEWISH MATTERS" posted Monday November 14, 2010. Some quite interesting comments were added by others. There is one comment that has my lion picture icon but, in fact, I copied from e-mails with TRUTH SHARER (with her permission) an exchange that we had yesterday.

Also, a new post has been added to my tab "WISE."

Thank you, Sharon, for your indulgence and for your great posts!

  2. Sharon, thanks for sharing this. I've included them in my morning prayer. It goes along so well with other passage I've scripture I've been reading. Hope you have a wonderful day.

  3. Love when you do these, Sharon! (but you didn't reference the verses like you sometimes do?) But I recognized where some of them came from. I truly believe we need to get the fear of the Lord into our hearts and his wisdom, understanding and knowledge. Of course we do that by spending time with him, in his Word, like you do!

I "swear" we are on the same wave length some days, LOL. In my prayer journal today I wrote a brief poem about my heart being still, but one word I used "penetrate" which I don't usually use that word (LOL) and I see you used it too about God's commands (I referenced God's word to penetrate it in my heart). (but this is something I wrote in my hand written journal, probably won't post it anywhere)

anyway, always love these of yours!

  4. Hi Sharon -

    Sidebar:
If you are so inclined go to www.youtube.com and type in the search engine "cat and alligator." It is a short video of a cat that scares an alligator.

One of my friends commented that she could not understand why the people would allow the closeness with an alligator - Go figure.

  5. I love it when you do these, too! I always try to find as many familiar verses as I can.

This one comes from one of my favorite passages.
"Guard your heart above all else – for it determines the course of your life."

I drum this one into my girls.
I drum it into my own mind as well.

  7. Sandra - Yes, the Lord is in total control, He rules forever. If that isn't security, I don't know what is!! I will be visiting blogs tomorrow (I've been gone since early this morning - took my parents on a road trip - so I'm just too tired tonight to wander!) But I will check out the comments, and read your new posts! I'll also have to watch that YouTube video. Yes, who would have a cat get close to an alligator? Thanks so much for your support, Sandra - it means the world to me!

Wanda - I just love when God meshes the things He's teaching, the things we're reading, and the words we're writing - He weaves a beautiful tapestry! I had a wonderful day with my parents - hope your Wednesday was blessed, too!

Betty - Oh boy! Senior moment! Thanks for pointing out that I forgot to list the Scripture reference (I went back and added them to my post - these words were taken from Proverbs 2-4). It's true, when we read God's Word on a consistent basis, it just seems to permeate, to penetrate our hearts and minds. How fun that we were on the same wavelength today - great minds think alike?! I'll bet your poem was beautiful - I didn't know you wrote poetry! You are a multi-talented lady, my friend!

Debbie - Oh yes - guarding the heart. Drum roll, please!! You know, I am impressed with the fact that we need to trust God to guard our hearts from our own selves sometimes. He says the heart is deceitful above all else. So, sometimes I'm not sure that I can trust my own heart. I think I'll ask the Holy Spirit to play sentry. How's that sound? (How are you doing, Debbie the Tired? BUSY, sounds like!)

Mary - The Lord's wisdom is awesome! And I sorta love the fact that the world thinks it's foolishness! He stands above all frivolous "knowledge" - He stands alone! ROCK ON, LORD!!

GOD BLESS, everyone - Glad that you enjoyed the Word of our LORD!

"So [I] have been greatly encouraged in the midst of [my] troubles and suffering, dear brothers and sisters, because you have remained strong in your faith. It gives [me] new life to know that you are standing firm in the Lord. How [I] thank God for you!" (1 Thessalonians 3:7-9)
