I GIVE YOU MY WORD...

(Words taken from Jeremiah 30-32)

This is what the LORD says:

I am going to break the yoke from your neck, and snap your chains.
So do not be afraid or dismayed.
I will save you.

I will heal your wounds.
I have loved you with an Everlasting Love.
With My unfailing love, I have drawn you to Myself.

I will rebuild you.
You will walk beside quiet streams and on smooth paths.
I will watch over you like a Shepherd.

You will be radiant because of My good gifts.
I will comfort you, and exchange your sorrow for rejoicing.
I will reward you.

There is hope for your future.
For I am with you.
I will cause something new to happen!

I will put My instructions deep within you.
I will write them on your heart.
I will forgive your sins, and I will never again remember them.

I will never cast you awayNO! I will not even consider it.

I will give you a purpose.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you.

I will never stop doing good for you.
I will put a desire into your heart to worship Me.
I will do ALL the good I have promised you.

I am the great and powerful God – the LORD of Heaven’s Armies!
I am the LORD.

Is anything too hard for Me?

  1. Hi Sharon -

Thank you so much for this! It brought tears to my eyes because only GOD knew...

Yesterday, via e-mail, from one of my relatives who professes to be a Christian sent attacks against me using scriptures. The Lord showed me that it was not of him.

I attempted to reason with her...she sent me another attack this a.m. I responded with love but also with firmness, and expressed among other things, that the Lord is delighted with me and that when He is not, He clearly lets me know...I have not received a response from her yet.

In the meantime, the Lord led me here to your blog which clearly affirms/confirms what I
    e-mailed to my relative.

Thank you so much for posting this!!!

  3. loved how you broke this down, Sharon! worth printing out and thinking about it.

I pray a lot Jeremiah 32:27 (I am the Lord, God of all mankind, is anything too hard for me)

(I think I loosely paraphrased that.......but you know which verse I'm talking about)

Truth is, nothing too impossible for him if it is his will :)

  4. Sharon, I've been reading through Jeremiah lately. I've just been filled with hope as I read the recount of how the people were disobedient and would be going into captivity. But God didn't send them away without words of encouragement. The season would change and He would bring them back again. At times we're quick to cast people away but thank goodness God is not like that.

  6. Sharon-
You know just how to encourage a sister! Ha- was this JUST for MEEEEE???
:-) I know that the Lord is using you to bless many of us...and I love how you focused on the His promises to be with us, to build us up and to give us hope and a purpose.
Anger and fear...the reasons I have turned from the Lord, only to be reassured that HE still loves me in spite of myself...thank you,my friend

  8. Sandra - I'm so glad that GOD spoke to you through this post this morning. Keeping you in my prayers...and your relative, too. The Lord, indeed, does delight in you!!

Carolyn - Welcome! Thanks for joining me on the journey! I hopped on over to your blog today, and was blessed! Thanks for your wonderful words - I look forward to following you!

Betty - I know which verse you're talking about - it's a great one! I have a few things I'm praying about that seem impossible to me. But, as I've stated before, what seems impossible to me is "HIM-possible" with God!!

Wanda - Jeremiah is quite a story, isn't it? It's so easy for me sometimes to point fingers at those Israelites - will they never learn? But, I am no better, really - God has had to exercise much patience over my rebellious ways at times. Yes, God's discipline always comes with a message of hope and encouragement.

Grammy Blick - Welcome, friend! Sandra's blog is great, isn't it? I'm so happy you visited my "porch" (I like to think of my blog that way - a comfy little porch where others can come and sit a spell!) I hope you come back again! And thanks so much for your kind comments.

Janet -No, this post was for thee AND ME!! There are no better words than the ones that come from God. I'm glad He spoke to you today. "You will be radiant because of My good gifts." Claim that one, buddy. He loves you, always...and so do I.

Kimberly - Oh, I like how you said, "Truths we can cling to and stand on." YES! Today I read this from Psalm 89:17: "You are their glorious strength. It PLEASES you to make us strong." Isn't that great?! Thanks for you very kind comments. I am blessed by your thoughtfulness.

BLESSINGS, my friends - hope to talk again soon!

  9. Sharon,
Even your post makes mention of God giving us a purpose! Although, I think the more beautiful part is God's unfailing love for us, even when we fail Him.
    Thank you for visiting.
Thought you would like to know that Chip, our dog, was hit by a car tonight in front of our home. I was hysterical but, praise the Lord, we got good news so far from the vet hospital. The Xrays look good. They are keeping overnight to make sure he is well hydrated after being in mild shock, and to make sure there was nothing wrong with His bladder.

Keep Chip and us in your prayers, please. thank you.

  10. Oh, Janis - I'm SO sorry. What a horrible scare! I will certainly pray for Chip, and for your family. Please keep me updated on how he's doing.

And yes, it's pretty wonderful that God understands that we need purpose and meaning in our lives. And He promises to give us HIS purpose if we just yield to Him.

GOD BLESS, Janis - please take care.

"So [I] have been greatly encouraged in the midst of [my] troubles and suffering, dear brothers and sisters, because you have remained strong in your faith. It gives [me] new life to know that you are standing firm in the Lord. How [I] thank God for you!" (1 Thessalonians 3:7-9)

Thanks for your comments - it is such a joy to be sharing my journey with friends like YOU!
